Modern Slavery Statement

Our commitment to acting ethically and transparently.

Modern Slavery Act 2015 Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Beanstalk Skills Academy CIC has taken to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our organisation or supply chain.

This statement covers the financial year ending March 2025.

Our organisation

Beanstalk Skills Academy CIC is a small Community Interest Company operating in Lancashire. We deliver community, employability and business support programmes. Our workforce consists of a small number of employed staff and volunteers. We do not operate complex supply chains.

Our policies

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity. We have a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery. Our policies include: a code of conduct for all staff and volunteers, safeguarding procedures that protect vulnerable people, and safer recruitment practices including DBS checks where appropriate.

Due diligence

We assess the risk of modern slavery in our activities and supply chain. Given the nature and scale of our operations, we consider the risk to be low. We procure goods and services from reputable suppliers and include appropriate clauses in our contracts.

Training

All staff receive safeguarding training which includes awareness of modern slavery and how to recognise and report concerns. Staff are encouraged to report any concerns without fear of reprisal.

Approval

This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Beanstalk Skills Academy CIC.
